Brett Bourne

As I approach my 50th birthday, I am in good health, love to ride and find myself wanting to give back and do some good. I am incredibly grateful to have been chosen as one of he national team riders taking part on the 2017 ride.

As most folks, I have witnessed the battle against cancer and want to do what I can to raise money for this worthwhile cause.

Since my teens, I have dreamt of riding across the country and I learned about the coast to coast for cancer ride while participating in the tour for kids events in Alberta and Ontario.

During those two rides, I met lots of people that have faced cancer and listened intently to the families that shared their stories of battles, losses and heartaches while watching their children succumb to cancer.

While the ride is a daunting endeavour and will require significant training to ensure success, the effort is minuscule compared to what families endure while battling this horrible disease. I am confident that I could not only accomplish the ride, but also use my marketing skills to raise a significant amount of money for cancer research.

I am riding in hopes that one day, no parent will have to hear the words “your child has cancer”.
